Meet Chef Kora -
Visionary Chef, Entrepreneur & CEO
Kora Marcail's culinary journey began in the vibrant city of Denver, Colorado, where she honed her craft and discovered her entrepreneurial spirit. After relocating to Maryland she transformed her passion into a thriving business empire, launching AVME in 2005.

Building on this foundation, Kora established in 2006, a premier catering company dedicated to delivering exceptional, affordable cuisine to both private and corporate clients. Her culinary expertise has attracted notable clients including P90X creator Tony Horton and some of hip-hops most notable artists, while securing prestigious corporate partnerships with some of the largest corporations and hospitals in the DMV.
In 2009, answering her lifelong passion for pastry arts, Kora founded KoDee Cakes. The brand's success led to multiple locations across Maryland, including a presence in BWI Airport, Hampden, and Mt. Washington.
After a strategic sabbatical in 2016, Polydore returned to the industry with renewed vision, launching Kora Lee's Gourmet Dessert Café. This venture masterfully combines her expertise in both savory cuisine and sweet confections, embodying her evolution as a culinary artist and business leader.

Throughout her career, Kora has demonstrated an exceptional ability to identify market opportunities, scale successful businesses, and maintain the highest standards of culinary excellence. Her journey from chef to multi-business owner exemplifies the power of passion, perseverance, and entrepreneurial vision. A lifelong learner and community leader, Kora continues to expand her expertise as a recent graduate of the Goldman Sachs One Million Black Women in Business program. She further enriches Baltimore's business landscape as a fellow member of Curate Connect and Baltimore Means Business, demonstrating her commitment to both professional growth and community development.
